2019/2020 Winter Work

Winter Greens Prep:

Completed Snow mold applications to all Greens

Two topdressing applications completed as of December

Sod Cut surface drainage channels on holes 4, 5 & 17 to aid in the removal of surface water and prevent ice cover.

-  Will install subsurface drainage in these areas like process completed on #8.

Opened subsurface drain lines on 8 and 9 using gravel channels to assist in surface drainage

Installed supplementary 4” subsurface drainage to the back right of #8 green and basin in surrounding rough to aid in removal of excess water.  Drainage system is independent from existing 2” XGD greens drainage which had improved the area but required additional support for the large volume of water that collects in the area.

Will complete additional chlorothalonil and topdressing application to greens during next appropriate weather window to aid in winter disease and desiccation pressure.

9th Tee Project:

Stripped contaminated primary rough and regraded tee complex and bed.  Seeded with a blend of Turf type tall fescue and rye grass.

Removed all plant material in existing bed and repurposed in other areas including moving hollies to screen tennis courts, path to pub patio and moved Dwarf Maple to front entrance.

Planted 100 privet shrubs to serve as screening for parking lot.

Tree Work:

Acquired dump trailer allowing us to haul/dump logs off site at no additional fee.  Had previously required organic dumpsters ($400 ea.) to remove materials.  2 or 3 small trees per dumpster, large trees were requiring multiple dumpsters.  This will allow us to continue to complete majority of tree work in house including work that had been quoted out to insurance from storm damage in late August and additional damage from Thanksgiving windstorm.

        Storm cleanup completed progress:

        9 entire trees (3 at shop, 1 at paddle, 1 each on holes 1, 12, 14, 15, 17)
